A loud bawdy green

Belting a bright tone of summer
Has begun to feel the change

Green leans into yellow, into reds, intro browns
The longer nights begin and with it a new trumpet tune
A key change
A rhythm change

With less flow through,
The time now comes for rest
Nutrients once pushing through every vein in time and tandem have slowed
down
their delivery service
A fast paced melody now gives way to Winter’s waltz
A swaying
A rush of wind and a new dance begins
One that floats on a breeze all the way to the ground
A tap dance had occurred
Thousands of petals falling at once
Now lie in wait for a creeping
An inching
of frost
upon their bodies
Covering the memory of vibrance and chilling the bones
A dormant state as a slow soft wail
A single note slowly dissolves
Peace for the season
A holy soft tone
Silence
Dawn brings a new movement
A crunching of crisp snow beneath the tiny boots of imagined explorers
A new song on the eternal nickelodeon
