Eternal Love

Through many eons his strength shone

Providing warmth and sustenance

At times beating so brightly that many needed to shield their eyes

She sits quietly, unnoticed, basking in his glow

Until it is time for him to leave

Then in the silence it is her time to shine again

As she did in the beginning

To let loose upon the darkened world the musical notes of her peaceful muted light

Her gentle grace and beauty seem so much quieter without him by her side

Yet her power is without equal

Able to bend the waters to will and quench the flames he has left behind

To fill the air with the notes of her wisdom and knowledge

To cool the earth from its own fever

She smiles sadly, yearning for his heat

Knowing that the cool silent light emanating forth is not hers alone, for through her pours his eternal light

That light which she birthed oh so long ago

He is of her and she is a reflection of him

It was never just one

Always he was a part of her, living inside her heart since the beginning

When he was shining, she was always with him

Now in the darkness, she reflects his light

A beacon to the troubled world
