Making Them Feel Your Pain

Oh how I love the sound of a broken heart.
How it shatters so perfectly with just the right word, just the right look.
Oh how I love the look of a costume smile.
The way the sparkle doesn’t quite reach their eyes.
Oh how I love the feel of a single tear.
When it is so close to being much more than one, you only have to wait.
Oh how I love the scent of a dying rose.
There is nothing like all that beauty withering away.
Oh how I love the taste of a liquor stained tongue.
Nothing is as sweet as that kind of sadness, that kind of pain.
Oh how I hate you, and want to see you hurt.
This is payment for what you’ve done to me.
For now we are both damaged good.
