Ant colonies and chessboards share a goal:

Kill the queen.

Mix a cocktail of confectioners’ sugar and boric acid,

slip a bishop into a corner,

mix it up, ten to one,

pony up your knights,

add some water,

and advance your pawns.

Have patience, let the workers

live to ferry the poison,

stack your rooks,

watch the incessant march,

sweep the board of threats,

reduce the army to bare bones,

count the weeks,

take the weak

until the bitch is dead,

king captured,

war won.
