empty
A dry, flat space
Full of nothing
Full of time
Time to waste
Time to lose
Do you want to point out your nothingness like a new shiny accomplishment?
To access it like an uncovered memory that fills out your nothing
To shatter your expectations
Your heart,
To unlock your trauma
And fill it with a new sort of nothing?
Is it a heavy burden
Or physical weight?
Is nothing worthwhile to offer a free room to rent inside your mind?
I feel nothing
I feel empty
I can’t hold onto the feeling
It whispers sanctuary.
Sanctimonious fortitude in the midst of heavy lifting and painful feelings
Nothing is something insidious
Isn’t it?
You feel it better than something,
It holds onto you stronger than your normal everyday something,
It rocks you and pulls you under worse than all the new sorts of
Things, even
Everything
And yet, it is empty and full of stuff you cannot grab or touch or hear or smell or taste
Nothing is important
Can you still see me…
Like I am slowly filling in the lines of a proper
Empty space.
