Empty Jar Of Love

Enshrouded in Darkness

There used to be a million hearts in this jar,

A life so fulfilling, where loved had once lived for eternity;

Now,

There is nothing,

No warmth,

No beats,

No kisses,

Laughter,

Or,

Hugs,

The jar sits here,

Haunted by the sounds of what once was,

Grieving the loss of hearts,

The sweet sound of love,

And the warmth of a touch I grew fond of,

But lost too soon,

The jar hurts,

It yearns to feel,

Just like I yearn to feel those warm, strong arms around me,

Once more;

Those arms where I felt loved, protected, and safe,

Sadly;

Those days can no longer be,

The jar cannot survive if it is fractured,

Just like my heart,

Which you enshrouded in darkness,

When you said goodbye.
