your stare
following me through time
a virtual presence,
Ever there.
I ask for help
In desperation for
you
to care,
To care about me.
Help me to eat,
keep a roof over my body
and safety around my heart
Yet I receive
Nothing.
I sit waiting, hoping,
Praying for freedom
reaching out to you,
only for empty echoes
of the past
Chanting, taunting my mind
“Nobody cares” on repeat.
On repeat.
On repeat.
They were just there to stare
to watch
the struggle
With detachment
Feeding their brains with
Cheap dopamine
You can turn them off,
choose to stop
being their puppet.
Stop sharing your thoughts
Delete your page
Delete your tweets
Delete yourself from their mind
in order to find
yourself
free from the the lie
the emotional strings
of painful belief
that they care
