Empty Arms

Baby Angel

By Mary BlackPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

We're jealous of the angels around the throne tonight.

They can gaze upon your beauty and snuggle you tight

The arms down here are empty and weary

The eyes down here are red and teary

But you were to good to stay down here

The angels needed to have you near

So you grew your wings to soar up high

And round us you will always fly

A guardian angel for Mum and Dad

You'll watch over them while they are sad

For now we bow our heads in sorrow

Yesterday, Today and so many Tomorrows

But one day we will manage to smile

At those cuddles we had when you stayed a while

You weren't taken for no reason

The love you taught will last season after season

Changing lives just by being here

We just wish the angels hadn't needed you near

We're jealous of the angels around the throne tonight

They can gaze upon your beauty and snuggle you so tight.
