Emotional Tirade

A Poem About Love and Heartbreak

By Natalie FraserPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

There was a time,

not long ago,

when I loved you so deep,

everything else was on hold.

But you broke my heart,

again and again,

by not loving me back,

enough to change.

So now I'm forced,

to suffer the pain,

that's tearing me apart,

my heart and my brain.

Heart wants you back,

but brain says no way,

we can't keep suffering,

this emotional tirade.

You were my first love,

my life and my sanctuary,

I never wanted to let you go,

even now I'm not sure how to.

But life must go on,

there are hopes and dreams,

new people and new places,

out there waiting for me.
