Emergence

writing piece

By ChickadeePublished about a year ago • 1 min read

Emergence from the caves

we have always known,

our mouths hang open in awe and shock,

as the sunlight hits our pale faces

and the warmth fills our bodies,

down to our bones.

The sweetness of the air are like droplets on our tongues,

and how it feels against our bare skin

is a distant memory that floats back

into our consciousness.

It’s all tough to grasp,

like a dream dissolving swiftly upon waking.

Such as the cocoon eventually releases its’ final result:

the butterfly,

we emerge out of our isolation,

ready for growth and illumination.
