Embrace Yourself

Who I Am

By F.A.EPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

I am a Black woman; a Queen

Made up of the sweeter things; honey, brown sugar

Shining bright with dark melanin, like gold dipped in chocolate

I use the moon and the stars when I get lost in oblivion, for there is also light in darkness

And while it may tip or slide, my crown never falls, as I walk with grace and stride with integrity

5'4'' on the outside with a soul taller than Nefertiti's crown, I will not hesitate to walk through the valley of the shadow of death

Because Queens fear no evil

I work hard to accomplish dreams you may have never seen, yet I humble myself as I get closer to the throne

As men like to say, "women never forget"

And I will never forget being a Queen when my experiences were those of a jester...
