An eponym is a person, place or thing for whom or for which something is named, or believed to be named. Boycott, guillotine and milquetoast are all examples of eponyms.

Boycott was named after Charles C. Boycott, an English land agent, who was ostracized in 1880 for refusing to reduce rent.

Guillotine ( an instrument of beheading) was named after Joseph Guillotin, a French physician who proposed it's use in 1789, as a more humane punishment than hanging.

Casper Milquetoast, a comic strip character created by cartoonist Harold Webster in 1924, is this word's namesake. Milquetoast (a timid unassertive person.

Hello there! Thanks for sharing your post about eponyms, Novel Allen. I found your examples to be quite interesting and creative. It's fascinating to see how certain people or things have become so influential that they end up being the namesake for something else. Your use of alliteration and wordplay in your examples also made for a fun and engaging read. Keep up the good work!
