I Miss You

Time Tics By

Tic Toc Tic

Staring, sobbing in Silence…

Tic, Toc, Tic

Memories

Imaginary Constructs

All in my mind

Made up?

I don’t know.

Your hand presses against my chest,

Pushing me steadily back

Lips entwined

Tic, Toc, Tic

My eyes peel open

We haven’t spoken in years

Ring, Ring, Ring…

“Hello”

Tic, Toc, Tic

“But how is she dead?!”

My lungs scream into the void

Shocked, like a volt of lightning

The hurt isn’t immediate

It comes in waves

Over and over again

The second always more agonizing than the first

Tic, Toc, Tic

Reminders of you,

A snow cone stand,

A Decorated Compass,

Lana Del Rey ...

They lied.

Time doesn’t heal.

The pain remains

Tic, toc, tic

1-year passes

My heart remains broken

Time is coming to an end

Tic Toc Tic

Your laughter,

Your sweet face,

We meet again,

In a land unlike the world,

We both once knew.

Rest in Peace Elizabeth
