Eli, Lily, and Izzy

a storytime rhyme with oodles of doodles for Sara Wilson’s Doodles and Ditties challenge

Izzy’s Cat, Eli’s Mushroom, and Lily’s Owl

Do you have fun like Eli, Lily, and Izzy?

They’re even better than drinks that taste fizzy!

They like to draw doodles and sing lots of ditties

and read funny stories about puppies and kitties!

We like stories with oodles of doodles

And eating noodles with lots of poodles!

Some people like to visit towns and cities,

but we think it’s more fun to sing ditties about kitties!

Sorry, Dr. Seuss,

but my goose is loose

Uh-Oh! He’s as big as a moose!

That goose doesn’t know how to play I Spy,

but we do, and guess what I spy

with my little eye:

A yellow mushroom, this fun guy by Eli!

Eli’s mushroom

You probably think I’m being silly,

but check out this owl who’s a little bit frilly

with googly eyes, made by Lily!

Lily’s owl

Can you tell me how many triangles you see?

I’ll give you a hint: it’s way more than three

on this cat made by Izzy!

Mommy Sara is truly the best

in the North, South, East and West!

She give the best kisses and hugs,

washes the dishes and vacuums the rugs!

Even when she’s working, Mommy looks pretty

and sings little songs that she calls ditties.

She reads us stories every day,

cooks our supper, and loves to play!

Mommy makes magic for our storytime:

she even got Harper to write us a rhyme!

In our dreams, we’ll play with the fairies,

dance with unicorns, and eat magic berries.

Here is a story Harper thinks is super

She reads it to her grandson, Cooper!
