"Elephant Tears"

A Message to a Mom Who Left Her Two Girls for a Life of Drugs

This picture was taken in Jerusalem where Jesus walked to be crucified;

Listen to the recorded song.

A mother trades her children

For a drug or two

They’re no longer smiling

Cause mommy, where are you

The drugs have taken over

Your life is changed somehow

While your babies cry elephant tears

Wondering where is mommy now

(chorus)

Mommy, where are you?

Please come back today

Mommy, we’ll help you

Let’s pray

Mommy, where are you?

What message will you send?

To children who love you

And will follow you to the end

Drugs have claimed your family now

Love will pull us through

Someday, I pray to get to know

A mother, I never knew.

Another mom takes drugs now

And leaves her happy home

Mommy, I’m just like you now

With children of my own

I wrote this customized song for a girl that doesn’t know her own mother, because her mother left her and her sister for drugs. She told me how she used to cry for her mom and wondered where her mom was all the time. She found her and wanted to send this to her. She gave it to her mom in a hospital bed.
