Igniting flames that forever inspire.
With every thump, a tale unfolds,
Of joys embraced and stories untold.
In syncopation, it carries our dreams,
Through winding paths and uncharted streams.
A lullaby, soothing in its refrain,
Through moments of pleasure and times of pain.
It quickens its pace with excitement's thrill,
Yet slows in sorrow, with a heavy, still.
A steady pulse, the pulse of life,
Enduring strength through moments of strife.
Through love's sweet whispers and passion's flare,
It beats in unison, a love to share.
A heart's beat, the essence of our being,
A symphony that keeps the spirit from fleeing.
In every throb, a tale of existence,
A testament to life's boundless persistence.
So cherish each beat, this precious treasure,
A reminder of life's limitless measure.
For in its rhythm, we find our truest song,
The heartbeat that echoes eternally strong

Two Wrinkles In Time
It is pointless to run, my darling, because sixty seconds ago, I will kill you. My blade will have sliced reality open right in front of you. It will have first pierced it as it would a bed sheet left hanging to dry, flapping in the wind on a Sunday afternoon. But the metal will have drawn a line in the air that the ghostly tear will have followed. Then I, La Dyablès, machete firmly in hand, will have emerged from what your mind, at the time, could only interpret as the other side of here—whatever that means to you. I know. I have seen that look on the faces of countless unlucky… clients. You will not have been the first nor the last to try and reneg on a riches for soul contract only to present this visage to me when I come to collect.

Matheesha, I loved the rhyme scheme and your choice of vernacular. You did a great job creating a tempo that flowed seamlessly through out the poem! It was a beautiful tribute to what our hearts are capable of and what they symbolize too! My favourite line was "In syncopation, it carries our dreams" I felt like it really encapsulated the essence of the poem which is the beauty of life and what a precious gift it is! Great work Matheesha!
