In the arms of night’s darkness.
Resonates with the silent scream of womanhood,
A ghostly lament, an unspoken story.
In blood, carved in fear.
She walks as a target unnoticed.
Shackled by her gender,
Death stands in the shadows.
A relentless predator, driven by hate.
Her voice was stilled, her dreams were broken.
To her killer, she is just a pawn.
A vessel of use, a power-vessel.
Her life reduced to a mere statistic.
Femicide, the brutal reflection of misogyny.
A cold reflection of society’s shortcomings,
When women are victims and justice is an illusion,
Against this horror, we must stand.
Let our anger be a wildfire, burning bright.
Lighting the fires of change, calling for justice.
For each life that had been snuffed out, for every soul silenced.
We promise to fight, to end the cycle of violence.
We stand hand in hand, united.
A choir of voices, all refusing to submit.
For femicide should not claim another victim,
We stand, we fight back and reclaim our humanness.
