The ground beneath our feet,

A stable base, a mighty beat,

But sometimes it begins to shake,

A force too strong, a power to take.

An earthquake strikes without a warn,

A rumbling deep, a mighty storm,

Buildings crumble, roads do break,

Leaving behind a path of ache.

The earth quakes, a roar so loud,

A surge of fear, a gathering crowd,

People running, searching for light,

In the darkness, a sight so fright.

But despite the damage it can bring,

The earth will keep on quaking,

A reminder of its power untold,

And a lesson for us to hold.
