Beauty plucked from earth
Stumps blanket the countryside
Shriek of a buzz saw
Water
Silently earth cries
Natural flow occluded
Plastic pollution
Air
Winds of social change
Air filled with smoke and tear gas
Help me, I can’t breathe
Fire
In smoldering ash
Nothing left but a flicker
Of a life that was
