Earth's Lament

The Heartrending Bemoaning of Our Planet's Sorrowful Fate

The Tragic Consequence of Humanity's Neglect

The progress we’ve made is grand,

But lost we are, in this endless demand.

We keep on searching for what we don't know,

In the midst of our greed, we’ve lost our own glow.

Technology has made us lazy,

Erasing our manners, and making us crazy,

No longer do we respect the old and wise,

The young now live in a world that's unwise.

We ravage nature without a thought,

Destroying the place where we were brought,

Not caring for those who will follow our path,

Leaving them with a world that's broken in half.

What will be the fate of this world?

With humanity's carelessness unfurled,

Disaster is sure to come our way,

And the Earth we’ve neglected will have to pay.

Let us awaken and fulfill our responsibility,

To protect this world and all of its ability,

Before it's too late, let's make amends,

And make our home a place that transcends.

It's time to take action and do our part,

To heal the wounds and mend the heart,

Of our planet, that we've taken for granted,

Let's restore it to the way we first planted.

Let's appreciate nature and all its worth,

And protect it for our future and the Earth,

Let's learn to live in harmony,

With the world that's been given to you and me.
