Early Morning at My House

With visitors, we are as quiet as a mouse!

Looking out my window to the tall trees

No squirrels or birds at the bird feeder

The green grass, the field, the rain and the bees

6:00 a.m. and no one yet awake here

~

Our son and granddaughter came to visit

Love to have company — is what we said

It’s fun with a daughter who came to sit

Cards after our four-year-old went to bed

~

Such a cutie — but she prefers beauty

Time to water my plants and cook breakfast

A finch is at the feeder, the cutie

Too soon to cook, we intermittent fast

~

I appreciate it is time to write

A sonnet it is, that sounds about right!
