Duckless and Luckless

Life without a Jeep

I wish, I wish with my every heartbeat

to be an owner of a Jeep

with all my ducks in a neat row.

Yet, because I am without a Jeep

this poem will therefore lack flow.

Methodically relaxing in their prestigious nook.

So incompatible with my lines without sequence.

Comfortably adding new duck friends each week.

Slumbering nonchalantly within a world of peace.

While my story turns topsy turvy, my life's drunken dance.

Chaos dominating my life, therefore ducks I cannot keep.

My destiny would favorably change if I only had a Jeep.

A child gifted me; very possibly aware.

One tiny duck; how sweet for her care.

This Easter Day; chaos bares no reign.

Though already lost; the only duck I had.

Slipping free of my shaky grasp

Into a drainage pipe it fled

to my dismay, it knew not how to swim,

nor float and through the ripples it goes

emphasizing my life without hope.

Submersing before my very eyes,

into the tumultuous, filthy water.

Sweeping away with my salty tears

making my existence so clear.

My ducks I could forever keep

If only I could obtain a Jeep.
