Fear clutches my heart

Panic and dread fill my lungs

My courage falters

The darkness creeps in

Drowning in a sea of fear

In dread's icy depths

Fear's hand grips me tight

The walls of my mind close in

Held captive by doubt

My lungs fight for air

The panic overwhelms me

Anxious thoughts whirling
