did my apprenticeship on the xbox

i fine tuned those skills on playstation

i'm at the top of my class of electronic arts

i'm now proudly serving my nation

now i'm a fearless remote aviator

eating soup in West Nebraska

fragging EC’s in another land

another fearless remote aviator

waging my nervous war on the wire

it don’t matter if i tire

they’ve got another to take over

got the highest simulation score in my class

everyone knows that i’m no fool

but do you know how to tell the difference

between a weapons plant and a primary school?

Oh wow! I love how this transitioned from hobbies to a career but those last lines made the reality slam home. Great work as always, never disappointed :)

I love the last 2 lines. Murder by remote is so chilling. No sting … no viscera… no … conscience. Great job.

I love this...like Spawn Point...the mix of real life war and computer games references makes it very stirring and drives that last point home so well. Bravo, Brenton!

  • Omggg, that last line hit me so hard in the gut! Loved your poem!
