DRIFTER

 His passion called

 ()()()()()()()

 I had a good time while I’d known him,

And I wish that I’d have shown him

What his gentle ways had always meant to me.

But I don’t think it would have mattered;

My dreams would still have shattered;

He’s a drifter now and will forever be.

I felt his passion calling

But I couldn’t help but falling

Into those gentle arms that held me tight.

But as he bid me fond adieu,

He broke my heart in two;

Now I sit here by myself each lonely night.

For now, he likes to travel,

But one day, he might unravel

And no longer have the need to always roam.

Then, I hope he’ll find

The best way to unwind

Is to settle down and stay with me at home.
