The vivid dream
Played across a black screen
Bringing new life midnight views
And introducing true starlight
To those estranged souls
Searching for
As the days drag on
Falling asleep with swirling thoughts
Fighting to be first,
Swords clashing behind mind's eye
A yearning for something
They can’t grasp-
The dream world presented to them
In their sleeping moments
An alternate space,
A falling into,
Not a climbing-clawing out-
Nails scratching for an existence
A foothold in a world
Constantly running-
Instead a cavernous desire for
A world of existence
Of enjoyment and fascination,
A world of color despite the edges,
The gloom hiding just outside the vision,
A clear wall presented by
The modern steps,
The practiced patience
The preferred facial expression,
An act well staged
Among fellows despite
A common grief,
A shared dream to fall into
The universe where
The sinister skeptics
Of the necessity of idle hands-
Providing progression to an overworked mind
And allowing the dreams of imagination
To scatter about on the ground
Springing to life
Like the daffodil blooms beyond the front door
Of our waking days.

Your description of slipping into the world of dreams after those frantic moments of every thought from the day & about tomorrow vying for attention, & how those dreams entertain & inform our waking minds to entertain the possibility, even in the hustle & bustle of the everyday, of something new & wonderful. How's that for a run-on sentence that's not even a complete sentence? Let me simply say that your words are captivating, sweeping me along into a world where everything good & creative & beautiful truly is possible.
