Dreaming Out Loud

A Poem for Inspiration

People are always talking about it,

But are always afraid to commit.

Because what's harder to hold on to than a dream?

I'm going to be a seagull, for what it's worth.

Flying over and across God's green Earth.

I'm going to be a mighty oak tree,

And all the people will breathe me.

I'm going to be a sad, dying, little ember,

Trying so desperately to remember

Why I had burned so hot and bright:

To share with others my warmth and light.

Dreams are abstract, yet so hard.

Easy to forget, to disregard.

But what's more beautiful than a dream realized?

If your dreams don't scare you,

Then they aren't big enough.
