Dreaming

A Holiday Poem

Dreaming.

Of Christmas fun.

Family coming home from miles away.

Old and new precious people. Sugar cookies and pie and coffee on frosty mornings.

Gifts are already under the tree, excitedly waiting their turn to give joy.

Dreaming.

Of the sea.

A trip to the sand and wild winter waves.

Waving to we who have crossed to vast lands together and sat around the home fires sipping whiskey and speaking with the certainty of deep friendship.

A moment of togetherness near the relentless ocean’s greeting of the shore.

Dreaming.

Of a new year.

Of plans and projects, a fresh beginning.

“A new day with no mistakes in it.”

Yet.

And mistakes, to teach lessons not yet needed.

All things in the fullness of time.

Dreaming.
