Dreamfall

A poem about sleep

Comfort enclosing

Warmth enfolding

Storm winds blowing

Each breath steadily rising and falling

Clicking

Detaching

Tilting

Falling

Into the void within my head

As I lie not quite asleep in bed

Smoke-like tendrils entwine my limbs

As my tired vision dims

Awareness of the world I leave behind

Grows steadily further from my mind

Ahead of me in my headlong rush

Glowing in the cerebral hush

A dream undreamt ready for me

Oh, I can't wait to see

What awaits within my sleeping mind

What wonders tonight I'll find

Awareness flees and I am someone new

Ready to do whatever it is that they do
