dreamers unhinged

in a world of normalcy

By Jai ClarkPublished 4 years ago • 1 min read

We're all born dreamers

But somewhere, somehow

It ripped away from us

Stolen by societal norms and expectations

By elders telling us "Dreaming is a waste."

By jobs draining us of time and energy

By despair of working endlessly to survive

By self doubt giving in and giving up

By the sheer feeling of hopelessness

But there are those of us who still dream

Regardless of the naysayers around us

Regardless of how delusional the dream

We dream as it's all we have left

Keeping us grounded and balanced

Keeping us away from the deep end

Dreams are unspoken desires and wishes Waiting to become our realities

Keep believing and wishing

Dream on Dreamer... dream on
