DREAMER DREAM
Dreamer dream beneath the night,
let your worries lose their fight,
close your eyes and drift away,
leave the darkness where it lay.
I hung my dreams above my bed,
to catch the fears inside my head,
each feather moved without a sound,
keeping all my nightmares bound.
The moon came softly through the glass,
watching every shadow pass,
but nothing frightened entered me,
my dreaming heart was wandering free.
The circle held my hopes inside,
a little place where dreams could hide,
the feathers danced above my sleep,
protecting promises I keep.
I dreamed of fields I’d never seen,
of purple skies and oceans green,
I walked where broken hearts repair,
and left my heavy sadness there.
Sometimes dreams know where we hurt,
they lift our memories from the dirt,
then wrap them gently through the night,
until the morning brings its light.
So catch the fear before it grows,
catch every tear that no one knows,
let every feather softly say,
“You are protected while you stray.”
Dreamer dream and travel far,
follow one forgotten star,
take every wish you never knew,
and let the night remember you.
When morning knocks upon your door,
your dreams may scatter on the floor,
but something beautiful will stay,
a little courage for the day.
So dreamer dream, don’t be afraid,
your secret shelter has been made,
the night can throw its fears at me,
my dreams are guarded, wild and free.
