Dream On, Dream On...

Don’t give up

Dream on, dream on,

Without a dream, you are no one

Don’t you dare give up

Perhaps the best is yet to come

You never know what you might become

Dream on, dream on

Life is a journey we sometimes get wrong

As one door closes, another one opens

We can’t always be strong

Sometimes the road seems too long

Dream on, dream on

It may seem like everything is wrong

But remember you're never alone

I walk with you hand-in-hand

Dream on, dream on

There is a place for you to depend on

Keep searching, don’t give up the fight

Tomorrow is a new day

It could be better in some small way

[A/n: This poem is inspired by Steven Tyler’s song “Dream On.”  It is one of those songs that always moves me.  Tyler wrote the lyrics to reflect on how quickly life moves, how people change or disappear, and the urge to create, live, and sing while you still have the chance.  For me, I sometimes struggle with giving up, and I think it is because, as you get older, you lose your dreams because there is less time ahead than behind you.]

Till next time,

Calvin
