Dream Angel

My Grandma's Hands

By Nicky FranklyPublished about a year ago • 1 min read

She meets me in the dream

Warm and dead

And more alive than I've ever been

My grandma

Waiting by her kitchen window

Grandma

Sweeps up my hands with kisses

Asks me what I want

I bring him there

My ex

My undoing

He stands, confused

I touch his chest and remember

His heart, my heart

His heart, my heart

My fingers push past skin and bone

-Yes!- she shrieks

It pulses in my palm

Found and held

-Change the heart!-
