Dragon

A fire breathing lizard

By Mark Stigers Published 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

I like to sleep on my valuable horde,

of priceless gems and coins of gold.

There among the treasures stored,

my greed lives in my heart so cold.

Jewels I will never wear,

nor spend a single coin of mine

None of my treasure would I share.

I’ll devour any thief that dares the crime.

I will burn your fields.

Your livestock I will consume.

No weapon you can wield,

will ever spell my doom.

I can breathe fire;

I can fly away.

Your situation’s dire,

the day I come to stay.

If a dragon you should meet,

run away real fast,

or face a death from fire and heat

your life over in a flaming blast.
