I don’t think you know the strength of your gravitational pull,

Or how firmly caught I am in your orbit.

I can’t take my eyes off of you,

But you look right through me half the time.

I’d make you my everything if you’d let me,

But a friend of a friend is all you see me as.

Darling, you’ve got me down bad.

You’re an addiction I wish I could quit,

But I don’t even tempt you.

You haunt my every thought,

But I don’t think you think of me.

You’re in my dreams every night,

But you still sleep easily.

I can’t stay away from you,

But you never look for me.

Darling, you’ve got me down bad.

Now here I am, sitting quietly,

Listening as you tell our friends

All about some new girl you’re seeing.

And none of you can see it,

But my heart is crumbling into pieces,

Because I know you’ll never choose me.

Darling, you’ve got me down bad.

AN: I wrote these poems when we only had the tracklist for TTPD. Some of them are way off what the songs actually were, and some of them I think were actually kinda close. This one I feel is one of the latter.
