This is something that I wrote several years ago, but wanted to share here. This is relevant throughout life, as doubt always tries to sneak back in sometimes.
--------------------
Doubt.
That ever niggling,
lingering voice.
Gnawing at you,
Like rats eating flesh.
Making you question
yourself at every turn.
Your sanity,
Your decisions,
Both present and past.
Am I crazy?
Is that thought
caused by
My mental health?
My trauma?
My instincts?
I ask myself that daily.
There is never an answer.
Every day I remind myself,
No, I am not crazy.
But sometimes...
When all is said and done,
That doubt returns,
A wicked ember,
Eager to consume once more.
