Don't Take My Meds
Dealing with the world
I got up today, a little bit dismayed
From all the things heard on the news
They’re shooting like a fool where my kids go to school
I think it's giving me the blues
This world is so unkind. I might just lose my mind
It is not funny so don’t laugh
I've witnessed so much pain, I think I’ll go insane
Or maybe now I already have
Don’t take my meds, I can’t be off my meds
For more than a day or maybe two
Cause if I’m off my meds, the voices in my head
Will start telling me bad things to do
I went to the store, like a million times before
You won’t believe the things I’ve seen
A young kid with no mask demanded all the cash
He could not be even a pre-teen
I should have stayed inside, be safe where I can hide
I’d rather deal with all the rats
I’ll stay my butt at home, with no TV or phone
For maybe then I can relax
Don’t take my meds, I can’t be off my meds
For more than a day or maybe two
Cause if I’m off my meds, the voices in my head
Will start telling me bad things to do
