Don't Sink in the Bubble Water

The world of hate comments

By Seashell Harpspring Published 4 months ago 1 min read

Bubbles always find their way to us, popping on our backs

We turn around to never know who blew them

Where they came from is not a concern,

just let them pop, never turning around.

---

She didn't do that though, she tried to "fix" it

Have others obey these ridiculous commands

To control the bubbles that come

Annoyed she couldn't see where they floated from

----

It drove her to anger and lies

severing of relationships

Entitlement that sent more bubbles her way

Agitating her skin

---

It lead her to those bubbly waters

She screamed into them

As she mocked them, calling them little bubbles

They pulled her in and she sank

---

Thanks for reading! This poem is inspired by someone I knew who lied about spreading mean gossip about me that came back at me to hear. Gossip such as saying Shelby is a boy's name and that they thought my hair texture was bad. She called in the middle of the night over a hate comment on the internet demanding for me to fix it as someone who has severed the relationship with her. She is not entitled to me being her reputation saver PR. I have received many hate comments in my life, some even threatening and I just had to find a way to laugh them off, respond in a way that corrects them if they are talking about a product, or just be okay that I don't know where it came from or what reason they came to disliking me. They are constant little bubbles to just let be that can leave you sinking if you try to control them.
