You only $mile when there are dollar $ign$ in my eye$;

only congratulate me meaningfully when my pa$$ion

produce$ green paper.

I get it - I'm older now - everyone my age need$

to be making money.

But I could hardly care, becau$e the future

is an uncertain ???

and money is a fleeting reward for thi$ line of work,

and it'$ a miracle anyone can even be creative

in times like the$e.

It'$ $omething $o unbelievably preciou$,

the$e word$ we can weave onto the page,

turning thought and emotion into print

that connect$ to $tranger$ we might never meet,

but you don't $eem to get that,

given your attachment to money

being the ultimate reward

for art bled on a page.

I get it, you don't want me out on the $treet,

but I'd rather be there writing the$e word$,

than here, begging for your approval.

Author's Note:

This is your sign to pick up free writing: sit down without a plan, and write the first thing(s) that come to mind, and just run with it. I can't express how helpful it is in unblocking a long dry spell, or if your looking for something to post on your writing blogs that won't cause burn out!

Speaking of burn out, I think I'm finally coming out of mine. I am itching to continue An End of Gods & Dust, and to possibly start another longer fiction or poetry project, or yap more about my novel? I don't know, lots on the table. x3

If you got the time, drop a comment on some of my An End of Gods & Dust chapters! I'm always looking for more feedback on my longer fiction projects/pieces. (: ( And I take no offense to critique. I crave it! )
