Do You Think We’re Alone

Do you think we’re alone in this black sea

this turning space that swallows time

where stars are born then disappear

and no one hears the end

Do you think they watch us now

not gods, not ghosts, but something else

a flicker, maybe, far away

that sees us burn and grow and break

We launch our signals out like prayers

but get no answer back

just silence, long and deep and wide

enough to make you crack

Still I look up, still I ask

not for fear, or proof, or light

just wondering if someone else

up there has ever asked the same.

My Comment feelings are

I don’t think we’re alone. The universe is too vast, too old, and too strange for us to be the only ones wondering. But I also think if anything is out there, they’re not like us — not waiting with greetings, not hiding behind a planet. Maybe they’re just as lost, just as quiet, just as full of questions. Please like and tell me what do you think in the comments ?
