how much more do i need to soak my words in soapy water and decrease the concentration of power and lower the chances of you being offended by them? do i need to melt the meaning off my words,
suck out the strength so that’s it’s easier to swallow?
easier to digest.
knock out the courage that comes with it and beat out the bravery that is me? add more gentleness to them so that they become more brittle? scrape off the pain of my ancestors behind my words so that you don’t feel guilty.
evaporate the torture from tender red hands of my ancestors picking in the fields or the bleeding wrists of my brothers hands from the cuffs you chain them in
erase the agony that came from the beating of my ancestors
should i try to peel away the disturbing thoughts, what if i was born only less than 200 years ago or the dreams about visiting my future son's grave, “end police brutality”
replace my interminable vocabulary for your calculable one?
-boil hot water, pour water into sentence, then stir with a wooden spoon, mix until words in sentence are diluted enough to be easily handled and comprehended by society.
