Do Crystals Really Have Power

They glimmer softly in shop windows,

lined in rows of quiet colour,

names attached like whispered cures,

each one holding a promise.

People pick them up with care,

as if they might already feel something,

a warmth, a pull, a sense of calm,

something hard to put in words.

We want to believe in simple answers,

in something small that can restore us,

because the truth is often heavy,

and healing takes more than we hope.

A stone has lived through years untold,

pressed and shaped beneath the earth,

it carries time but not intention,

it does not choose, it does not act.

The power people speak about,

does not sit inside the crystal,

it rises from the human mind,

from the need to feel held together.

Belief is quiet but it moves things,

it steadies hands and slows the breath,

it gives a moment back to you,

when everything feels out of reach.

So when someone says this saved me,

it is not the stone that did the work,

it is the part of them that stayed,

that refused to fully break.

There is no harm in holding one,

if it brings your thoughts some peace,

if it becomes a place to rest,

when your mind will not be still.

But truth should not be dressed in myth,

nor strength given to something else,

because the hardest thing to face is this,

you are the power you are seeking.

And once you see that clearly,

once you let that truth sit still,

no crystal in the world will matter,

quite as much as your own will.
