If you don't see me smiling,
don't ask me why,
assume things on your own,
things that make sense to you,
even more than mine,
because I am tired of ruining,
your expectations,
yet always falling right into your future predictions,
your highlights shining bright,
**
All I wanted to say was,
don't even try to squeeze into my space,
I am very desperate,
the words landing on your face,
learning not to regret or even say sorry,
the unkindness within shivering in its trail,
**
I am tired of this morning sickness,
mourning to drape,
the beautiful sleep that has escaped,
dredging about the compromises to pace
**
No wonder,
why no amount of travel,
no amount of framing memories,
flaunting the wealthy gifts,
seems to crown,
but over time,
my forgiveness has learned to drown,
**
The suffocating love,
demanding to attend,
pressuring to pretend,
the need to respond,
**
Anything you do now,
out of genuine care,
have only crowned, your wickedness,
**
The good old memories, all died down,
for there is only pain, nowadays,
your smile, a stinking parasite,
**
There are no more second chances,
what is, is to move forward,
**
The realization of how everyone around is okay,
defining, this is what life is about,
the ups and downs,
just do your duties, and it's okay not to be fine.
**
And I said,
ask me, ask me,
How am I doing?
and I look at my audience,
my nerves sensing the touch of stuffy breath,
**
I am UNHAPPY.
**
To the silence that prevailed,
No more noises, no more tears,
but the silence that prevailed,
unclenched my fists,
clinging to the freedom I feared.
**
I grab my bag, my boy, and my unborn,
life, a misleading take,
children, a horrible mistake,
yet asking to breathe, my life's purpose,
**
The older, the harder the life,
Not the older the wiser.
**
Finally, out from his castle.

About the Creator
Parvathi J
Through my pages, I find the quiet complexities of pain dwelling in a solitary space, burdening life’s endless demands, and unburdening the voiceless noise.
Witnessing the questioning, I speak the deeper silence of my voice.
