Distant From The Crowds
Say It Plainly

In distant lands,
Where contrasting flavours intersect on a dusty trail,
Innocence intertwines with courage,
Forging new values from timeless styles.
A blue shirt, reflecting the azure sky,
Carries a profound message.
Indeed, it is so, provided we have the determination
To cast aside our old ways of seeing the world.
But what truly makes something “popular”?
Seen by thousands, understood by few.
Does that mean everyone who encounters it
Forms a connection with it?
Universal values harmonise
With individual desires.
Anyone seeking catharsis in these times
Will undoubtedly find it.
Revenge served cold, and they remain unaware.
Silenced only on paper, does anyone care?
Identities blurred, confused, and lost,
A fusion of disparate bodies and spirits.
Out there, their perceptions will shift.
They will run everything through their own filters
To reinforce what they already believe,
Only in a different setting, a new guise.
This will subtly alter their reality,
Or perhaps even transform it completely,
Depending on their knowledge and experience.
Everything we can grasp springs from within,
Regardless of the paths we have walked over the years,
Guiding us toward what is right and what is not.
Yet, in reality, things look different.
It is the one in power who holds the purse strings,
Whether defining us through the prism of our diversity,
Whether pigeonholing us or placing us on a pedestal,
Or ignoring us altogether.
It is the one who wields the pen who should hold the power.
The power of the word, not the power of decision-making.
We all make choices; yet sometimes
Others, incompetent ones, decide for us,
And we all have to live with the consequences.
