The air between us
Shaking, buzzing, clinging to
My lungs, my throat, thick
And humming, like a
Summer storm about to break.
Unsaid words vibrate.
The inches a mile
Where our fingers long to meet,
Delicious tension
Melts into torment,
Silence too loud to hear my heart
Beating, ever yours.
Please speak, love, else the
Bubbling disquiet rise-
A dying exhale,
Radio silence,
Unholy snowfall in
The air between us.
Your sigh strikes like
Lightning in my cloudy head,
Bees swarm in my ears
Locusts fill my lungs
Needles dance over my skin,
In vain I reach for
You.
And there is only restless air.
