Discrepancy

.

By Noah PackardPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

As an illiterate Eye played a game

Since the Crayola box was full of mysteries.

Half the colors looked the same

It was hard to separate discrepancies.

When Green and Brown are metonym

Eye color Black and White

Someone said “It's sink or swim."

To which Eye said

"Alright."

To find a color –

Both Timberwolf and Canary so Yellow

Must hunt and peck, fall on Copper

Then pause in search of Indigo

Eye’ve made up in ends and odds

What Eye lack in cones and rods.

These Rose tinted glasses that you see

Help supplement much of my deficiency.

They're less a hard to swallow iron pill

We’d imagine cures the visually anemic,

And more a sunglass shaded windowsill

Filtering light from Arcadia

So verdant and scenic.

My cornea lacks the reddish senses

They limit what Eye perceive.

My nostalgia goggles have been filled with critical lenses,

That colors my world in bright Discrepancy
