Disconnected
A Dancing with Distraction Challenge Entry
Do you ever feel so disconnected from the rest of civilisation that you could be in the most crowded place on the planet, or at least local to you, and still feel like you are on your own?
I sometimes stop and experience that strange detachment you can only get from our modern world and society. In the shops, surrounded by people, with no one paying any attention
Sometimes, and it is sometimes, if they bump into you, or you are in their way, or they need you for something specific, they will interact. A nice distraction before the isolation sets in again
Tragically, I know so many reading this experience it. The world has become such a cold place in so many ways when you consider how easily different people from different sides of the world can connect
Robotic uprising is not something we need to worry about. Isolation and solitary existences are more pertinent.
Although, it's worth considering that it would be harder to fight against the robotic uprising if we were all islands
Connections with other people can be messy - I'll be the first to admit that
They can leave you with the deepest of scars whether they end or not, whether you drift apart or are torn apart or stick together through thick and thin
It can be hard to trust people...especially once you've been burned
Opening your heart and mind may come with rich blessings but also devastation
Now you need to work out for yourself...is it worth it? Are you worth it? Do you want someone to stand beside you...whether it's for a robotic uprising, zombie apocalypse, or simply to enjoy the changing of the seasons and all that life brings, good, bad, happy, sad.
