Disappearing from View

Soaring above

I'm looking down on multiple developments

Everything is shrinking

I'm soaring higher

You disappear from view

I've handed you my heart

On a wooden platter

I can't afford silver or gold

You take it with the sweetest smile

and hand me yours on a paper plate

I am a pilot

and you, a fabulous chef

Fun times flying together,

experiencing new tastes

Everything is becoming distant

shrouded in cloudiness

You disappear from view

I still taste our last kiss on my lips

There's an alarm beeping

So many happy years

We have no money,

but love to spare

Alas, children are not in our cards

Everything is fading

Wasting away

I'm sorry I died

You disappear from view.
