Sitting in a corner silent,
yet still.
Aware of my illness
that is mental.
The next time I’m needed,
remember I am the eldest.
Pity is not permitted,
attention is unwanted.
I just want to be of help,
the feeling of being needed.
I want to be relied on,
let my potential shine through.
Shy away from my disability,
look at me for me.
See me for my personality,
not for the label.
The label in which,
is forever held above me.
See me for my name,
and only for who I am.
That’s my whole plan.
