Dis-jointed, Dis-track-ting
I think I need to dis-collect myself

I feel off-track, off-kilter… off everything I was just on before.
Why, oh why, do I feel like I’m out of supply?
Maybe it’s lack of sleep. Maybe it’s the strange season.
Maybe it’s the one hundred and one things running through my mind all the time.
Where’s that thing I need? Oh, right in my pocket. Or hanging off my clothes, or on my head. Or, or, or…
I’m not going fast enough. Falling behind.
But some things you have to take slowly. A complex task, a difficult problem… an investigation.
You still have to adapt to make slowness work in your favor, though.
Sometimes it’s the weight of my eyelids that stall me. Sometimes it’s misfiring neurons. Sometimes it’s the rest of my body.
I hope I can push through… or learn to walk at half the speed.
